Adding new subnet to existing WLAN

vyas.nilay

Level 1

Situation:

Moblie WLAN range 192.168.1.0/24

Default Gateway: 192.168.1.1 - Firewall

Next available range to add more addresses are 192.168.11.0/24

Current range is having IP address issues..

I have seen a feature in 4402 controller that I can assigne second address range to exisgint SSID Mobile.

Question:

What should I set the default gateway for 192.168.11.0/24 range?

How can I point all mobile users traffic to the firewall as default gateway without creating additional interface on the firewall?

I really do not want to create another vlan and interface in the network to just add another 255 addresses if tehre is any option?

your advise will much appreciated.

Kind Regards,

Nilay Vyas.

What you are looking for is interface group. This allows you to bundle multiple subnets together. You will need to setup each subnet like any other... You need to define a default gateway add it to your FW, etc.

so in one liner without creating new VLAN and firewall interface I can not point new subnets to use old subnet as default gateway ..???

Is there any PBR I can create on this WLC ???

something like .. new subnet will use WLC as default gateway..

then WLC will use PBR to point any traffic coming from new subnet will go to old subnet default gateway .. something like that..

I think I am aksing too much from WLC ..

Thanks for prompt response..

The WLC isn't a router so no PBR.
