Antenna Advice Please.

Hi,

Am looking for some advice on how best to determine my needs.

Due to building restrictions (asbestos) we need to setup a Wireless LAN and I have utilised, for testing purposes, an Aironet 1210 with 802.11g Module. On top of that I had access to two Antenna for testing. They are Diversity Omnidirectional Ceiling Mount (AIR-ANT5959) and a single Yagi Mast or Wall Mount unit (IR-ANT2410Y-R).

Neither unit had any greater or lesser coverage than the other. And once the signal degraded it went more or less immediately and not a gradual drop off.

Now, as I said above, the building is asbestos almost throughout but the partitions are all held together with metal struts and the like.

So, without having recourse to any other items with which to test, or to any WLAN survey equipment, what would you suggest the site purchases to enable coverage. To give an idea, I reckon 3 x WAP and associated aerials (of the above types) would give us coverage. However I am looking to reduce costs if at all possible by perhaps purchasing only 2 access points but better coverage aerials.

Suggestions please.
