What is the authentication and encryption method do you use? If you use static WEP encryption, please make sure that the WEP key is the same (i.e. key 1 in the AP and WAP11 are the same, etc)

The WEP key is exactly the same. When I disabled the WEP key (in 1230b and in WAP11) the transmision not work too.

My bad. I should have checked the linksys problem first before I responded to your questions.

You cannot cannot two AP:Cisco 1230b and Linksy WAP11. Please refer to the attachment. The only valid topology is to configure 1230b as a repeater. Not sure if this is what you want.

I know this association matrix. My configuration is:

AP-1230b as AP Root access point

Linksys WAP11 as Client access point

This configuration must work (I think) but not work

OK. From reading the users' manual, it looks like that client access point is similar to repeater.

I am not sure if this works or not. I do know that an Cisco repeater running IOS has to associate to a Cisco AP running IOS.

I suggest you to disable Aironet Extension. If this does not fix the problem, it sounds like that they are not compatible with each other.

Aironet Extension is disabled.

Dlink 900+ (in APC mode) work with my AP-1230b

Planet 1966 (in APC mode) work with my AP-1230b

Linksys (Ciscos son :) or daughter :) ) not work with my AP-1230b.

Linksys is kept as a separate entity from the rest of Cisco.

In order to troubleshoot the problem, please telnet to the Cisco AP, go to enable mode, and send me the following debug for me please:

debug dot dot 0 trace print xmt rcv

debug dot11 mgmt int

debug dot11 state

the debug messages are saved in the system log, which can be retrieved by command "show log" Alternatively, you can do a "term mon" on the telnet session. The debug message will be printed on the telnet session.
