AP340 Bridge configuration, point to point

Hello,

I have a point to point wireless setup, using two AP 340's. I have the root set to bridge only, and the other end set to client. Is this correct, or should both be set to bridge?

Do you have AP340's or BR340's

AP340's can NOT provide you bridge functions ie.

10baseT lan ---- Bridge -----radio link ---Bridge---10baseT lan

If you have BR340s then you need one set to root bridge and the other to non root bridge

Whoops, you are right, we do have two BR 340's.

So, what is happening since we have one set to root bridge, and one client?

I am going to change the settings, from client to non-root bridge, but I would like to know what the effect of having the non-root set to client is.

Client mode on the bridge is inteded for site survery purpose only.

The ethernet port will NOT pass traffic when in client mode. It will only associate to an AP or a Bridge in ROOT AP mode

Interesting, I have the following setup:

LAN--BR340 root====BR340 client--remote LAN

And it's working. I changed the BR 340 client to bridge, non-root and it didn't seem to work, I lost connectivity. I may not have given the bridges sufficent time to re-link.
