Can you explain TEID? I would like to understand more information about this.

Hello Jackson,

Each device along the control and user plane path will have a Tunnel End Point ID created for the end user. Bear in mind the TEID is unique amongst the subsribers within the network to help formulate a tunnel within the network.

Great topic!

It will be fantastic if you can share some presentation that covers basics related to this topic (for example, I've heard about ASR5K and its role in 3G and 4G networks but would like to get better understanding).

Can you compare EPC with some MPLS network designed to carry voice and data traffic, i.e. what features/devices are mandatory to have so we can call it Evolved Packet Core?

How asr 5k handles coexistance of GGSN and PGW? Is the same card able to offer MME and SGW fuctionality or this is separate product/card?

Thanks for opening this discussion!
