Can we install license on WLC using SFTP ?

Can we install license on WLC 5508 using SFTP ? the instalation guide only shows tftp option.

 - From the link below only tftp is supported. Some remarks , you don't mention current software version installed ; it may be different in 8.8 , but the 5508 only supports up to 8.5
