capwap & Solaris System

Hi

Might be a strange one.

We've got a medical deivce for Breast Care, a Solaris System, which doesn't have a wireless card,, or so the Solaris engineer says. but for some reason it trys to authenticate using CAPWAP.  far as I remember CAPWAP is from the AP to the Controller, there is no reason why a client should be looking for it?

Our APs are 1240 in lightweightmode.

Is there any way a device with out a wireless card be able to try and Authenticate using CAPWAP.

cheers

Craig

Hi Craig,

CAPWAP is used by the LAP to communicate with a WLC and not used as by a host to associate/authenticate to wireless network.

Maybe the developer of the product have used the same "CAPWAP" acronym.

If you log into the WLC/WCS, can you find any attempts by this machine associating?
