Is there any commands you can use to see the connection status and traffic flow over the redundancy ports on the Catalyst 9800-40?
On the redundancy fiber port should a 1Gbps or a 10 Gbps SFP been used?

>On the redundancy fiber port should a 1Gbps or a 10 Gbps SFP been used
Note that only the SFP modules GLC-LH-SMD and GLC-SX-MMD are supported for the RP , these are 1G
>Is there any commands you can use to see the connection status and traffic flow over the redundancy ports...
Starting with release 17.5.1 you can view the status and statistics for the RP, run ping tests to validate RP peer reachability
and even do packet capture on the RP using the following commands :
# show platform hardware slot R0 ha_port interface stats
# test wireless redundancy rping
# test wireless redundancy packetdump start
# test wireless redundancy packetdump start filter port <0-65535>
# test wireless redundancy packetdump stop
