Cisco WILAN Controller Replacement

Hello Community members.,

kindly  educate me on the current happenings on Cisco wireless mobility.

I learn that Cisco is replacing the traditional  WILAN  controller  how true is this ?

For the deployment of Light-Weight AP like: AIR-AP1815i-E-k9  aside the use of controller for the integration what else can we used ?

Cisco have announced the end of their AireOS line of WLCs which have been going for like 15-20 years. Their successors are the IOS-XE WLCs which can also support pretty much any AP made in the past 6 years or so including the 1815i-E-K9. The compatibility matrix is good for checking these things:

So if you would like to order a WLC then look at the 9800 series which also has the vWLC replacement called the 9800-CL.
