Cisco WLC running vs saved config

Can anyone tell me if there is a concept of running and saved config on a Cisco 5508 WLC?

If you make a change and reload without saving then the changes are lost and the controller reverts to the saved config.

I can find no way to view this config, the only option is show running-config.

So where is the saved config stored and can you view it?

Thanks

Roger

Nothing is saved unless you click "Save Config" in the top right hand corner of the GUI.

Thanks I know that - I have worked with WLCs for a while now.

My question was that if you have not saved the config and reload and the WLC reverts to the saved config - where is that saved config stored and can you view the saved config as opposed to the running config?

On a router you have show startup and show run where you can view the saved config.

WLC does not seem to have this option.

Not a major problem just something I can't find an answer to, and I think the answer is you can't!

If you make a change and you don't save the config and then power cycle the controller, the changes you made are not saved and the controller will boot up to the last saved configuration.  When you issue a reload, the controller prompts you to save and typically many automatically hit yes to save.  Make a change and power off the controller and power it back on, those changes will not be there.

On the CLI, the saved config can be seen by issuing a dir or show flash. Changes made but not saved is in memory.

Thanks for the reply Scott - however dir and show flash are not options on my controllers 5508 and 8510s?

I think the answer to my question is you can't view it.

Roger

Haha... I was thinking of CLI on a AP.  The AireOS is not IOS so the show run-config commands provided the commands. The backup of the controller config is the saved config.
