I was checking compatibility matrix and this image version is for Cisco IOS XE Dublin 17.12.3, but Im not sure if there is forward and backward compatibility of versions, I mean this ap will be able to connect to WLC running 17.9.4a? if is compatible, I'm having issues connecting this ap to the WLC.

- Normally this should work (downgrading the AP) ; if you are having issues with this, then describe them in the initial post too; it will become more productive and possibly you will get a faster solution (...awaiting...)

@Carlos Arturo Rangel your controller is another 9120AXI-A or a 9800? What you can do is power off the ap, connect a console to the ap and start capturing the output. Then power up the ap and let it run for around 5 minutes. The data in that log file should help point to the issue. You can also attach that as a text file if you want others to review it and provide suggestions.

Hi Scott, yes the controller is a 9800 -L-F, that is I trying to do now, try to get the log from the AP. I will paste it once I get it

Okay, because there are separate section on the matrix, one for the 9800 controller and the other is for EWC.

Good work in progress ; always validate the 9800 -L-F controller's configuration too using the CLI command
show tech wireless and feed the output from that into Wireless Config Analyzer
+ Detailed AP joining issues can be analyzed using ; https://logadvisor.cisco.com/logadvisor/wireless/9800/9800APJoin
When improvements or changes are made have a follow-up with https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/wireless/catalyst-9800-series-wireless-controllers/217738-monitor-catalyst-9800-kpis-key-performa.html#toc-hId--1620538988

after ran Wireless config analyzer I get some error and warning but I think are not related with the issue, Im still trying to get console from AP and get the logs to see what's going on.
most of the errors are related with a wireless lan that is using for guest users so that is not related with Ap join process
Unfortunately I haven't an extra AP to test so just need to wait and get the Logs

Yeah... that's not related to your ap issue. Just saying it doesn't like what you have... good old suggestions.

@marce1000 & @Scott Fella Finally I found the issue and it was fixed, we use Infoblox to handle DNS. DHCP & IPMAN it seems during the new subnet create there was an issue because DHCP wasn't working for that subnet. after creating a new one Ap is connected, thanks guys have a great weekend!!
