Connection thru 8 floor

Currently I have a project to monitor and control 3 lifts. In normal situation, we will lay a cable from the PLC controller located at the motor room (normally at the top floor of a building) to the control room (normally at the 1st floor or basement). For this project laying cable are not possible, so we are thinking of wireless connection. Please advise on how to go about.

The elevator shaft or a ventilation shaft would be very direct routes, but the reflections and RF interference may keep you from getting a reliable link.

8 floors is only 80 feet, so it may be best to put one antenna on the roof pointed straight down at an antenna inside or outside of a window on the ground floor.
