Creating Guest WLAN with vWLC

Hi,

in my environment i've a virtual wireless lan controller version 7.5.102 running on VMWare infrascture.

All APs are configured in Flex Connect mode, grouped in 2 differnt groups to broadcast a total of 3 WLAN.

I'd like to setup a new guest wlan from where clients connected aren't able to reah some server on the same LAN.

I suppose that with ACLs i can do what i need but i can understand how set-up correctly a guest WLAN due to the documentation refers to creation of a new interface but the virtual controller it seems to be different from the phisical controllers in interfaces management.

There's a simple way to create a new WLAN and apply an ACL to it? It seems that ACLs are applicable to controller's interface or Flex Connect group, but i need to applicate only to a single WLAN.

Thanks in advance

Regards,

Erik

Since all the APs are in FlexConnect mode it doesn't matter which Interface you are binding to which SSID. It is important which VLAN you will configure on the AP itself for this SSID.

Example:

vlan 5 - wifi management

vlan 6 - guest internet

Create a Guest SSID and map it to Interface Vlan 5 on the WLC (it wont use it).

Under each AP, FlexConnect tab map the Guest SSID with Vlan 6.

On the switch's interface to which is connected the AP add vlan 6.

Restrict Vlan 6 access on your L3 wired device.
