Critical Memory Allocation error

daigled
Community Member

I have 21 AP1200 running software version 12.2(15)Ja. These have been running fine since Sept 2004 but latelly I receive the following error message on only some of the units:

Critical - Memory allocation of 1760 bytes failed from 0xAD218 alignment 4

When this happens no users can authenticate to the Access Point. Then for no apparent reason they start working again. Almost looks like they are being flodded with data.

Any procedures or software products out there which I could use to monitor this situation??

Thanks

You can use a SNMP manager to monitor the memory utilization. I am not a SNMP expert; so that I cannot provide the exact MIB for this.

Alternatively, you can telnet to the AP and do the

show memory.

There is an internal known bug open for this problem:CSCeg14657. As the bug is found internally, you cannot see the bug details of the bug.

The bug is in a severity of 3. I suggest you to open a TAC service request.
