Do i need to buy a DNA AIR-DNA-E-3Y /5Y when ordering C9115AXI-I

Hi,

do i need to order a AIR-DNA-E-3/5Y  DNA lic with the C9115AXI-I to run them in Controller mode.

As i dont know wich controller is in use.

Can i order them as opt out and how about running them with out DNA Lic, or do i need to order a  adder Lic for the Controller.

From the ordering tool, you can opt-out.  DNA license is if you have DNA Center, but if you do not need that, then opt-out.  Again, you should discuss this with your Cisco rep, so that you order the correct line items.  They can make sure what you need.

Hi,

Under the AIR-DNA license you will get 2 licenses.

• DNA Advantage/Essentials - 3/5-year subscription 
• Network Advantage/Essentials - Perpetual

Now if the APs are registering to any 9800 WLC (physical appliance or virtual) it is mandatory that you have a network advantage/essential license per AP.  If you are not using DNA Center or any of it features, you can let it expire as Network Advantage/Essentials will cover the license requirement.

Only occasions when you can opt out of DNA licenses is 

1. When you use EWC you don't need any DNA licenses.
2. When the AP is registering to a AireOS controller which already has licenses 
3. 9800 WLC with AIR-DNA licenses ordered seperately.

Reading this over, what do you mean by this statement?  You need to know what controller you will be using in order to decide what you need.

As i dont know wich controller is in use
