This FN is going into my LIST of Bug IDs exclusive to the 2800/3800/4800/1560.

Old 2700/3700 and Catalyst 9k are not affected.

IMPORTANT:

Make sure to thoroughly TEST the recommended APSP &/or Engineering Special release before committing the rest of the APs. It is of no use if the recommended APSP will break other stuff.
