Join multiple cisco 1562I to WLAN Controller

Hi Everyone,

I have a bit of an issue here I have about 120 1562i cisco access point that I need to join to the WLAN controller and I know we have to run the command "capwap ap mode local|flexconnect" in order it can switch from Bridge mode to local or flexconnect.

The difficulty comes that all these units installed before my time and they are now in places that cannot be easily reached or dismount.

I was thinking that this could be sorted by doing telnet or SSH into the units but seems like these units do not have this option enable by default.  If someone has any suggestion will really appreciate.

If I remembered correctly, it is not possible.
I had done the same exercise a few months ago when we had a few APs were installed in MESH mode instead of local mode. The only way was to enter the command while on console access.
The APs were in MESH mode because didn't understand the SKU. So now, we know the right part ID but, just to make sure, every new delivery will be opened up and verified.

Thanks, that is what I was afraid of.

As long as these units are registered to a WLC you can do this via WLC CLI or GUI.

For AP registration, you can use DHCP/DNS or Broadcast mechanisms (even if you do not have SSH/console access to APs)
