Is there a way to run mobile ip without a special client? I looked at several white papers and didn't see anything about a special client until after I called the TAC. Any thoughts?

Yes you do need a mobile IP client stack to use MIP.

You can find client stacks by searching on the Internet for "mobile IP client"
