New to Aironet - How do I tell if I'm running IOS ?

Hi,

Just bought 2 aironet 1200 and have them up running 802.11a. Just bought 2 802.11g radios to put into the existing 1200s. The guide that came with the new radios says that to make sure to upgrade to Cisco IOS Release 12.2(13)JA or later. When the system boots up I do not see any verbage stating IOS. I see an EnterpriseAP Sys 12.01A....is this IOS? Please help. Thanks. Alan

The easiest way to know, is when you open a web browser to the AP, if the background is yellow, it is VxWorks. If the background is white with blue on the left, it is IOS.

If you telnet to the AP, and get a CLI interface, it is IOS. If you get a cryptic menu driven interface, it is VxWorks.

To check the version of IOS (assuming that is what you have) enter the command: sho version

It will give you the information you need.
