I have had to do a second restore in 2 months from backup of the entire system, on this occasion NCS is not starting fully,
Health Monitor Server is starting.
Reporting Server is Starting
Ftp Server is running
Database server is running
Tftp Server is running
Matlab Server is running
NMS Server is stopped.
SAM Daemon is running ...
DA Daemon is running ...
Syslog Daemon is running ...
This is getting very frustrating, has anyone experienced this issue?
I did an ncs db reinitdb, restored the system from a recent backup......

I have had that issue in my lab, but really don't know why. It might be due to the resources that was allocated to my VM and maybe changing it and then rebooting the server which then I could never get to startup again. I have just learned to take a snapshot and revert back to a good snapshot if I run into the issue again.

Prime 1.2 is installed on an appliance in my case, all we were doing when the system crashed, was a switch discovery. Have you upgraded to 1.3, if so did you go to 1.2.1.12 before 1.3

Also make sure you install the point patch which allows the existing PI 1.2 to be upgraded. See the link below

It might be an issues with PI 1.2. I really haven't had any issues with PI 1.3 yet. I have upgraded on of my clients appliance from 1.2 to PI 1.3 and that went pretty smooth.

Had the same issue, I was running the 1.2 small OVA, about 100 aps and 2 5508s - TAC recommended blowing it away and using the 1.3 medium OVA - everything seems to be working great now.
