Hello.
I've just found these forums and I must say how good it is to find such a good source of information. I'm having a little problem with setting up a Home Wireless LAN and I would appreciate some help.
I recently bought a AP350 from eBay and I'm trying to set it up to use at home. I'm very new to networking so I apologise for my ignorance.
I've got it connected it up as follows:
Wireless Crossover
Laptop ============== AP --------------- PC
10.0.0.4/8 10.0.0.3/8 10.0.0.5/8
n.b. I'm only using the 8-bit mask while I'm setting it up and learning how to use it.
The laptop has an PCMCIA 802.11b Wireless card. The 350 AP connects @ 100MB via a Crossover to my desktop PC. I've done the basic configuration and the laptop picks up the SSID which authenticates on to the Wireless network fine.
I can ping the AP from the laptop, the AP from the desktop PC and both ways between the Laptop and the Desktop. I'm now trying to set it up and make it so I can proxy from one machine to the other and that's where I'm having trouble. I'm using VNC to proxy from one machine to the other and it doesn't work. Does anyone know why? Both machines have WinXP and they can see each other fine.
If anyone could help me with a step-by-step on how to do it (even if it is from scratch), I would REALLY REALLY appreciate it.
Thanks, in advance to everyone on the forum and to anyone who replies.
Regards,
B.Walnur
