Recover from flashing wrong firmware version on Aironet 1200 AP

Hi all,

I was a little too quick on the gun yesterday and updated the wrong firmware file [c1200-rcvk9w8-tar.123-7.jx.tar] instead of the right one [c1200-k9w7-tar.123.7.ja2.tar] using the browser to my AP1200.

Now, the ap boots up, but gives me an error on the fastethernet port and reboots. I get a few seconds in the ios before each reboot, but that is it. is there any way to stop the boot process and send the right firware to it through the serial link? Thanks.

You can do a mode button recovery.
