I am using wireless IP phones at a site. I have 3 APs in one wide open indoor location, with another 2 on the same level but at another location. When I walk in from another location into the indoor location, my wireless IP phones just would not associate immediately. What we observe is that the wireless phone keeps bouncing to & fro between these 3 APs and only after few seconds will it settle with 1 of the 3.
How can we ensure immediate switch over from 1 AP to the new?
How can we ensure that the new connection is established immediately (only one has the greatest signal strength)?
