Showing Limited connectivity in Cisco 1000 Series Lightweight Access Points

Hi Team,

We are facing issue in our 1000 series lightweight access point

Showing limited connectivity and not able to get the ip address for the associated clients(laptops)

pls help on the issue

I have attached the debug client command for ur reference.

The mac address of the client is 8c:70:5a:f3:70:ac

Hi Arun ,


Mian problem is , ur client is not getting IP from DHCP.

Check these:

1.did u configured the option 43?


2.did u enabled DHCP proxy on WLC?
Via CLI : config DHCP proxy enable
Via GUI: Controller>Advanced>DHCP

3.if WLC is in another subnet than DHCP then use IP helper command on switch.

4. In between firewall is there than check that one.

Hi Sandeep,

In the same Access point some of the other users are connected and working fine.

But we are facing the issues with some clients and newly connected..

WISM version :

4.2.207.0

Client stucked in DHCP Req. state.

Can u check if u have enough DHCP ip in DHCP scope?

Proxy enabled?

Please also provide the output of : debug client <mac address of client>

Hello team

Plz help me to solve the issue. Users are facing dropping issue 5 to 6 times in 2 hours time. What I check. Yesterday I checked particular ap for interference that was around 78 % for 2.4 ghz.

Hi Jain

Not sure if this is related to the posts above as it seems like a separate issue. If it is I would recommend starting a new topic under the Mobility forums.
If you are seeing around 78% interference on an AP chances are that this will be causing a large amount of transmissions and preventing clients from working correctly.
The 2.4GHz band is know for a number of non WiFi interferes like microwaves, DECT Phone, Bluetooth etc coupled with the fact it only has 3 non overlapping channels.
I would recommend looking at moving to 5GHz which is a cleaner RF space.
If that is not available make sure you are using only channels 1,6 or 11 in your environment and look to remove any non WiFi interferes from the environment.
