SSID with web login page

Hi,

I configured SSID with web login page , it redirects to a external web server. My idea is to users fill up a details on a web page to collect some information, no need any authentication.

Actually its working fine. But, If the user get more than 5 minutes to fill it. then it automatically resets. User need to start again.

i used Same URL redirect & webauth as below example.  How do i stop the this timeout?

What you can try is disable the session timer and increase the client idle timer on the wlan to 2-4 hours.  This needs to be done anyways when using WebAuth to ensure the client is still in the run state and prevents devices like iPads and iPhones from having to login everytime it goes to sleep.  If this doesn't help, then I don't think there is any setting on the WLC you can change, they just need to fill this out faster.

Thanks Scott, i will test it. Current client idle timer on the wlan is not set , what is that mean?

Basically if the client doesn't respond to the AP because it is in sleep mode, the timer will start and when the timer expire, the WLC will remove the Mac address from its table. This it means that you need to login again.

I tested with following settings & still client disconnect after around 5 minutes before submit the web page.

If I understood correctly, the clients have to fill in some form on that login page that takes them more than 5 minutes and they have to start over.

In this case, the users actually never get loged in.

Have you tried disabling the session timeout which in your case is 3600 secs?

On the other hand, maybe you should try to simplify that login page. I don't know how many cients are willing to spend five or more minutes to fill in a login page :)

Hi Sebastian,

In this case this not a login page. Actual idea is to fill up an application only  to get customer details. This page is quite long. Users just connect to wireless & redirect to this webpage to fill the  application. I tried with disabling time out as well. Still time out after around 5 minutes
