Voice Traffic of users connected to same SSID

Hi,

I am having a doubt about the following scenario. Let say i have a controller and a separate SSID for Wireless IP Phone's. Does the users connected to this same ssid sends the traffic directly between the devices or does traffic pass through the tunnel? Can i enable H-Reap local switching in this scenario? I am new to the voice scenario so pardon me on any mistakes.

The controller is on the same premise. The VG/Call manager is also on the same premise.

AP's in local mode or central switched would pass all traffic back to the controller. So the question would be, is this mode causing issues with voice in your network?  H-REAP or FlexConnect what it's called now, can pass traffic directly to the switch the AP is connected to but does have limitations.  The limitations can be found on the FlexConnect design guide.

Hi Scott

Thanks for the input. The present scenario doesn't have any problem, my doubt was on how the traffic flow was for the voice when the clients since they were connected to the same ssid. I wanted to test out the flux connect but since this is for a working environment i cannot disrupt the network if that is going to cause an issue.

Oh okay... so hopefully I answered your question, but all traffic has to hit the controller when using local mode or FlexConnect with central switching. The only time traffic doesn't go through the controller is when you are doing FlexConnect and local switching.  To better understand, take a look at the peer to peer blocking guide.
