Im using Mandriva 10.1 and I have 2 types of wireless cards (802.11a/b/g PCI wireless adapter & air 5Ghz PCMCIA wireless adapter - (:`(. Ive been looking for the drivers but no luck. Both adapters working fine on windows xp.

If any 1 know where I can download the drivers/other alternatives to pump up the packets out of those cards on Linux, then pls let me know.

Thanks in advance.

You'll need to find out which chipset your NICs are using.

If it's a cardbus adapter, try "cardctl ident" from a root prompt.

If it's a PCI-based NIC, try "lspci -v"

These commands may or may not work, depending on your Linux distribution and revision. They are part of a WIFI package, you may (or may not) be able to install the package (depends on your distribution and revision).

Check out http://www.linux-wlan.org (www.linux-wlan.org/docs/wlan_adapters.html to go directly to the chipset pages)

Another big Linux wireless site is http://sourceforge.net/projects/madwifi

Most of the current distributions have some flavor of wireless support, older distributions will need a package.

If you can find the O'Reilly book "Linux Unwired" buy it;it's usually discounted because most of the Linux distros are now including WIFI / Cardbus handlers & drivers.

Good Luck
