Window 8 WiFi problem with Cisco wireless network

Not applicable

Anyone encounter a Windows 8 WiFi authentication problem with Cisco wireless network?

We are using WLC 5508, 7.2.111, and AP 3602i with WPA2.

Hi Eric

Did you do a client debug on the WLC?

I need to find my debug file and post it later.

This problem occurred with Soney, and Dell models.  Lenovo with Windows 8 factory installed is working fine.

So usually when something like that happen, its usually the driver on the client card. See if there is an updated driver from the manufacture and then test it to see if that fixes it. Also, you alway try to see if it connects with an open connection or not.

Won't make any difference as these laptop's wireless NIC cards are different.

Can you try with OPEN authentication.  If the Sony and/or Dell laptop works, then you start cranking up the security and/or encryption settings until you break them.

I'm with Scott here:  It's got to be a wireless NIC card driver.

As what George has stated, post the debug of the failed attempts.

That code 7.2.111.3 does fix the issues with Windows 8. Might just be an issue with your config maybe. You do need to provide more data like the debug that George requested, but also tell us if all, some, or just one device is having issues, what device and what encryption and authentication method, the show WLAN is another one you should post.

I think you need to upgrade to 7.4.100.0.

As a update, I am upgrading all WLC to 7.2.111.3.
