Wireless AP on Non Cisco Switch

Hi All,

I recently purchase a Cisco Aironet 3702i with PoE injector but appears to not be receiving an IP address from what I can tell.  I have it plugged into a Nortel 3510-24T switch with VLANs configured.  In testing I plugged up to a Cisco switch and everything worked perfectly but when I try with the Nortel switch the AP constantly flashes green.  I'm sure I have the VLANS set correctly as Im able to plug my PC to the same port and recieve an IP address.

Does anyone have an Idea on what could be the issue here.  This issue have me stomped.

Thanks

As per my understanding you must Enable PoE injector option on WLC.

Further more if your PC is working fine on same port you use to plug your AP and then make sure your PoE injector is working fine or replace it ,because your AP will get power via PoE injector but not your PC via Nortel 3510-24T switch.

Hope that will be helpful

Well first try disabling  CDP and STP on the port your using for PoE and test.

Let me know whats the result.

If you could post AP console output, we can see what's going on.

I've tested the PoE Injector on another switch with the same AP in the same VLAN and it worked fine.  Im begining to think that its the Nortel switch thats some how preventing this.  Just would hate to replace a whole switch for 1 AP.

Well first try disabling  CDP and STP on the port your using for PoE and test.

Let me know whats the result.

After trial and I managed to get his working by removing the vlan from an STP group on the Nortel switch.
