Hi all ,
unfortunately there is a problem on my wireless lan . For some unknown reason wireless clients often disconnects from the 871w (equipped with a wireless interface) . In fact, there is only a windows notification about the wireless connection is being connected right now (the notification balloon pops up) during a worktime so it's seems like the wireless clients reconnects immediately but it still looks strange . Another strange thing to happen is the following :
show interfaces dot11Radio 0
Dot11Radio0 is up, line protocol is up
Hardware is 802.11G Radio, address is 0017.df10.dd00 (bia 0017.df10.dd00)
MTU 1500 bytes, BW 54000 Kbit, DLY 1000 usec,
reliability 255/255, txload 1/255, rxload 1/255
Encapsulation ARPA, loopback not set
ARP type: ARPA, ARP Timeout 04:00:00
Last input 00:05:48, output 00:00:00, output hang never
Last clearing of "show interface" counters 01:16:04
Input queue: 0/1024/505/0 (size/max/drops/flushes); Total output drops: 10
Queueing strategy: fifo
Output queue: 0/1024 (size/max)
30 second input rate 2000 bits/sec, 2 packets/sec
30 second output rate 5000 bits/sec, 1 packets/sec
7338 packets input, 1245828 bytes, 0 no buffer
Received 21473 broadcasts, 0 runts, 0 giants, 0 throttles
8 input errors, 162 CRC, 0 frame, 0 overrun, 0 ignored
0 input packets with dribble condition detected
8449 packets output, 6125796 bytes, 0 underruns
3 output errors, 0 collisions, 1 interface resets
0 babbles, 0 late collision, 0 deferred
0 lost carrier, 0 no carrier
0 output buffer failures, 0 output buffers swapped out
Please notice the in/out drops and the interface resets (one important thing to emphasize - there are not happens simultaneously with the disconnections , at least - not always).
Here is the interface configuration :
interface Dot11Radio0
no ip address
no ip redirects
ip local-proxy-arp
ip nat inside
ip virtual-reassembly
load-interval 30
!
ssid Cisco
authentication open
guest-mode
!
speed basic-1.0 basic-2.0 basic-5.5 6.0 9.0 basic-11.0 12.0 18.0 24.0 36.0 48.0 54.0
channel 2422
station-role root
bridge-group 1
bridge-group 1 spanning-disabled
hold-queue 1024 in
hold-queue 1024 out
I'd appreciate any advice on making the wireless connection works stable .
Have a nice day ,
Alex .

What are the clients? (i.e., which NICs), and are you suig the client software that came with the NIC, or using something like Microsoft Zero Wireless Config?
Have you tried updating the drivers on the client?
Load up NetStumbler (www.netstumbler.com - it's free) on one of the laptops and check your RF environment. What channels are in use? What's the Signal-to-Noise ratio?
Try other channels, stay with channel 1, 6, or 11 if at all possible (least interference / no overlap between the three).
Where is the router? If it's in a cabinet (i.e., surrounded by metal), that will have a big negative impact on the signal. Use some extension cables (short as possible) and re-locate your antennas.
It looks more like interference ... check it out with NetStumbler and let us know.
Good Luck
Scott
