Hello All,

I have a HA pair of 5508 WLC's running v8.1.131.0. For some reason, the Primary Image is v7.6.130.0 and the Backup Image is v8.1.131.0. I wish to have v8.1.131.0 as the Primary Image (default,active). I have searched for the command to reverse the designated Primary Image and Backup Image but can't find this command. I guess this command may not exist, but maybe someone here could confirm.

My concern is, if the WLC's reboot unplanned they may boot to the Primary Image v7.6.130.0, even though the Backup Image v8.1.131.0 is designated as the (default)(active). Plus, it seems weird when viewing the GUI Config Boot Image page, the old version is the primary image and the new version is the backup image.

Is it possible to re-assign the backup/primary images?

I noticed this issue when my standby HA controller was unavailable because it booted to v7.6.130.0 instead of v8.1.131.0. I checked the 'show boot' command results on both WLC's and Backup Boot Image is 8.1.131.0 (default)(active).

This is the command to swap this.

(WLC) >config boot ?
primary Sets the primary image as active.
backup Sets the backup image as active.
