Hello

I 'm finish two chassis ASR9010 make a nvEdge in the program

then other customer need the nvEdge of more than two chassis,

 so i have some questions:

if i need three ASR9010 become one nvEdge system,

 1.what's IOS-XR Version i need?

2.RSP link must connect to a switch ?

3.when the nvEdge can support  the VSM or ISM?

or the three ASR9010 can't become one nvEdge System?

4. about ASR9010

The words of RP/0/RSP0/CPU0

1.why CPU  called CPU 0?

2.what time CPU1 will occur?

3.what the effect of the CPU0 and CPU1 ?

Hello,

Currently we do not support more than two chassis in a cluster, theoretically its possible but the code is not there. If you are interested then I would recommend bringing this up to your account team, as I have not seen a request such as this before.

EOBC links must be direct L1, unless you are running 5.2.0 and above at which point L2 EOBC can be used (basically L2VPN across any other routers). http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/routers/asr9000/software/asr9k_r5-2/nV/configuration/guide/b_nv_cg52xasr9k/b_nv_cg52xasr9k_chapter_00.html#concept_0B93FBE799594A44BB2BD87D985B9FB6

ISM and VSM are not supported (http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/routers/asr9000/software/asr9k_r5-2/nV/configuration/guide/b_nv_cg52xasr9k/b_nv_cg52xasr9k_chapter_00.html#concept_45EBAFCBF6F24CB59CCB9F4E7A87B3B7)

Some cards have multiple CPUs such as the VSM which has 4 (CPU0-CPU3), the RSP has a single CPU and hence CPU0. The cards having multiple CPUs is few, ISM, VSM, and DRP in CRS.

HTH,

Sam

Hello,

1. EDCS is an internal repository for documents, not sure how you got access to these documents.

2. No this is not possible, only two chassis.

3. CPUs are not configured by the user per se, its likely your ISM is not in the 'full' running state.

Hello Sam:

thanks for your answer, and  i 'm so sorry that my english isn't very good

  First ,about nvEdge Systems.

1.In the Guid,i found : In Cisco IOS XR Software Release 4.2.x, the scalability of nV Edge System is limited to two chassis.

2.in the EDCS-889593 and EDCS-189230 ,note that for simplicity one line is drawn between each RSP and the switch

I have a question, do the ASR9K can like the ASA5585 of cluster, RSP connect the Switch ,then make more than two chassis become the nvEdge Systems

Twice, about of Some Cards have multiple CPUS, I have a Chassis of ASR9010 with a ISM ,the ISM only has CPU0,so i want to know, how can i show the CPU1/CPU2/CPU3,and how can i config it?

Thanks

hello,in guid of getting start http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/routers/asr9000/software/getting_started/configuration/guide/asr9k.pdf On an RSP, the module is “CPU0.” RSPs have two processors, so the module is either “CPU0” and “CPU1.” 1.why in the guid say that the RSPs have two processors 2.how can show it 3.What is its usefulness
