How to provision two P2MP-TE Tunnels from two different headend to the same tailends for multicast

Hi,

I have a multicast network where the Source is in a LAN that have 2 PIM routers. These two routers must be each the head of one P2MP-TE Tunnel. The two tunnel are destined to the same set of tails but each one explicitly route over separate path. The idea is to have two complete diverse path to each tail (where the receivers are) including the headend, so I won´t have a single point of failure if a headend fails. The multicast groups will be mapped to the tunnels.

Is that possible to achieve in the ASR 9000 running XR?

I have tried it in regular IOS, but the problem is the RPF at the tails because I have to configure a static mroute for the source of the multicast traffic to only one of the headend tunnel and not to both headends, I tried to configure two static mroutes with different AD but when when I enter the second mroute the router deletes the first and when the active tunnel fails the RPF fails for the other tunnel and the redundancy doesn´t work.

Any suggestion about how to do what I need to accomplish?

Thanks

Jacobo S
