Hi FanusBuckle,

correct, as RedNectar said, ERSPAN needs to be used. For that you need a GRE Endpoint which is the Destination IP.

Kind Regards

Patrick

Hi FanusBuckle

you can do access Span only Leafs, like access called on "access ports". To do a SPAN on Spine you need to use Fabric Span instaed of Access Span. Below the HyperLink to Configuration Guide

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/switches/datacenter/aci/apic/sw/1-x/cli/nx/cfg/b_APIC_NXOS_CLI_User_Guide/b_APIC_NXOS_CLI_User_Guide_chapter_010000.pdf

Please mark this as helpul, if it helps you out :)

Kind Regards

Patrick

Hello Patrick

As i then understand it:

Access span can be to a port

Any other span you need a destination with an IP address

Thank you

Hi @FanusBuckle ,

Yes you can - you need to set up ERSPAN as a Fabric SPAN.

Can't find the GUI guide, but here's the CLI guide: https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/switches/datacenter/aci/apic/sw/1-x/cli/nx/cfg/b_APIC_NXOS_CLI_User_Guide/b_APIC_NXOS_CLI_User_Guide_chapter_010000.pdf

You'll also want to possibly check out the Troubleshooting Guidehttps://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/switches/datacenter/aci/apic/sw/1-x/troubleshooting/b_APIC_Troubleshooting/b_APIC_Troubleshooting_chapter_0110.html

Getting the packets decoded in Wireshark can be a bit of a challenge too - this will give some tips: https://sharkfestus.wireshark.org/assets/presentations16/14.pdf

I hope this helps
