APIC CIMC upgrade compatability

We are in the process of upgrading our ACI infrastructure but I am a bit confused on the CIMC compatability.

We are currently running ACI version 5.1(2e) and CIMC version 4.1(3d), my goal is to go to 5.3(2f) but I can't find a CIMC that is compatible with both.  From everything I have read an upgrade of the CIMC is recommend prior to the APIC upgrade but I am worried about doing that on the current version.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Your current CIMC 4.1(3d) is compatible with both ACI 5.1(2e) and 5.3(2f), so it should not be a problem.

So would you suggest upgrading the APIC to 5.3(2f) and then upgrade the CIMC to the recommended version?

If you don't have issues after APIC upgrade, you would even not upgrade the CIMC at that stage.
