APIC in Read-Only and Leaf Switch Reload

Hi Community,

We will have a disaster recovery (DR) test of an ACI Multi-pod DC location represented by a single POD, which will be isolated from the rest of the ACI fabric.
- There will be a single APIC cluster member in the isolated pod, which is going to be in a read-only mode
- We need to power off and then power on an ACI Leaf switch in the isolated site
- The reason is that we want to upgrade memory in the switch. Other scenarion is when there would be a need for a switch relocation.
We could have waited until the end of the DR tests when the cluster is fully fit again, but the time for the activities is limited, so that we try to do the upgrade while the datacenter is idle.

Now the Questions:
- Will the switch be able to boot with it's previous configuration if the APIC in that particular pod is in a read-only mode?
- Is this a different scenario from when upgrading a Leaf switch where the device clears all it's config?
- Or in general, what functions edoes a read-only mode APIC provide?

Thanks,
Alexander
