EPG Trunk static binding mode

Hello,

I'm fairly new to ACI. Have a question from what I read about the EPG static binding modes. One of the mode is trunk. However, I am unable to understand why a specific vlan tagging is required in it if is trunk because what I know from conventional networking is that trunk allows multiple vlans.

Would greatly appreciate anyone's help please. Thanks.

Hi @sqambera

Don't think of trunks in ACI as you normally think of them say on your traditional ethernet switches.

They will behave like trunks ultimately to your downstream devices.  Like the diagram below shows, you have to define the EPG encapsulation for each EPG.  This is one of the more time consuming aspects of ACI and newer versions have ways to make this easier (although I'm not convinced yet).
