We are trying to upgrade the APIC Simulator from 2.3 to 3.1, however, when uploading the firmware via the GUI, the GUI does not show the firmware that was "successfully" uploaded. We have tried doing this via CLI as well and get the following error...
apic1:/> cd /home/admin/
apic1:~> ls
aci aci-apic-dk9.3.1.2o.iso debug mit
apic1:~> firmware add aci-apic-dk9.3.1.2o.iso
This command is being deprecated on APIC controller, please use NXOS-style equivalent command
Invalid firmware image
Error: Cannot add firmware image aci-apic-dk9.3.1.2o.iso to repository
apic1:~>
Does anyone know a way around this? Do we have to do it in a different way on the Simulator?
Thanks
Marc

Hi @marcbiggar23,
As you have discovered, you don’t upgrade the simulator in the same way you would upgrade an actual ACI fabric. It’s more like putting a new version of ESXi on a host. Using your CIMC interface load the new iso, boot from it, and install the ACI simulator image. I’ve assumed you have a hardware simulator. Let me know if that is not correct.
Here is the process I usually follow. Use http to transfer the iso. It’s much much faster!
