Adding a new redundant circuit to active-standby CSS's

Hi,

I am adding a new circuit, services etc to a master and standby CSS.

Does it matter which order I install the circuits and make them redundant in relationship to the active one?

I will add the following to each CSS.

interface 2/6

phy 100Mbits-FD

description "RemoteWare Farm-Segment"

bridge vlan 64

circuit VLAN64

description "RemoteWare Farm-Segment"

ip address 10.173.32.1 255.255.255.224

redundancy

Will this cause the active to go into standby if I make the active CSS circuit redundant first, and it sees the duplicate IP of the standby for the identical circuit?

Is there a correct order to do this on a live active-standby set of CSS's?

Carl,

Generally, you could configure the active CSS, then run the redundancy script. Or, you could simply not connect the standby CSS interface until the redundancy command was added to that VLAN.
