Hi All,

I am getting memory size does not match with model type" alarm in Cisco WAE-674 Appliance. Attached is the required information.Waiting for your kind response.

Hi Vijay,

A 674 is supposed to have either 4 or 8 GB of RAM as you can see from the data sheet:

In your case it has 6Gb:

6144 Mbytes of Physical memory.
Detailed Memory Device (DIMM) configuration 
        Size              Locator             Position        Serial Number 
     1024 MB               DIMM 1               Bank 1        Not Specified 
     1024 MB               DIMM 4               Bank 1        Not Specified 
     2048 MB               DIMM 7               Bank 2        Not Specified 
     2048 MB              DIMM 10               Bank 2        Not Specified

You'll need to either remove the 2 1Gb modules you have or replace them with 2Gb module to have it working.

You do have the option of having either 4 or 8 GB in that model, but definetely opt for the 8GB, the cost of 2-2gb pc2-5300 memory chips is very cheap.

674-4GB - 2000 tcp connections and 45Mbps WAN bandwidth

674-8GB - 6000 tcp connections and 90Mbps of WAN bandwidth
