Configuring a Content Engine to host Video

I have a customer whom has a Cisco CE 510 installed. currently they are using it just for Web Caching.

I remember reading at some point in the past that this Content Engine could serve video. Is this accurate? Is there any documentation to support this?

Thanks

Kevin,

Live and on-demand Video is definitely supported.

1. You need to figure out how to intercept the traffic you want to serve (wccp, proxy-pac, etc.) You may need to add services to your intercpetion technology.

2. You need to have a license for ACNS for Windows Media (and Real) support.

3. You may have to re-partition the drives for MediaFS if you want to cache VOD and CDNFS if you want to pre-position VODs and other files.

Here is a link for Video support in ACNS 5.5.

with CDM: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/app_ntwk_services/waas/acns/v55/configuration/central/guide/9136strm.html')">http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/app_ntwk_services/waas/acns/v55/configuration/central/guide/9136strm.html

without CDM: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/app_ntwk_services/waas/acns/v55/configuration/local/guide/wmtstrm.html')">http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/app_ntwk_services/waas/acns/v55/configuration/local/guide/wmtstrm.html

Hope that helps,

Dan
