Hi Jack
Can you give more info about why you need to configure ACE to reference this external DNS IP?

Hi Jack
As per the basic ACE lb template the program manager handed off to you, you don't need to configure ACE to reference this external DNS IP.
Generally speaking, this DNS name resolution happens between client and DNS server before the tc connection request sneds out to the ACE.
Step 1. DNS name resolution between client and DNS server
Step 2. Once the client understand this domain name "bpnwww.mbco.com" resolves to 10.35.153.69, the client will initate tcp connection to the resolved IP (in this case vip address defined on ACE).
Step 3. TCP 3 ways shandshake happens between the client and ACE.
so on.
I hope this answers your question.
regards
Andrew
