How can I TFTP a running config over to an offline CSS11503

To save time, I was wondering how can I upload a running configuration via TFTP to flash on a Cisco CSS11503. The CSS11503 is offline at my Data Center.

I want to manually configure a private on it and configure a static IP on my laptop so I can TFTP the running configuration. However since it's my first time doing this on a CSS, I realize the steps is sort of different than a switch or router.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance,

Damon W.

Hi Damon,

To copy files from a TFTP server to the script directory or overwrite the startup configuration on the CSS, use the copy tftp command. Then from startup you can copy to running-config.

copy tftp ip_or_host filename [script script_file|startup-config]

Thanks Kanwal,

Now how the next step for me is where to configure an IP address on the CSS. Do I configure the management interface to do TFTP the running config over or do I configure one of the 4 interfaces on the CSS? Which is preferred in this case?

Thanks again,

Damon

Hi Damon,

You can use management interface to do the same. Pasting link for your reference.
