Hi,
I would be interested in the maximum number of simultanous sessions supported by the CSS11051.
And also the maximum number of new tcp-sessions per second which the CSS11051 can handle. What happens if it is reached - does the CSS11051 die or "only" drop the new sessions?
Regards,
Chris

The numbers I heard were 500,000 concurrent sessions. The TCP setup rate may depend on the type of workload. Of course your mileage will vary depending on your configuration and memory.
I don't know what happens when the limit is reached. If you are up to more than 50% of this I would replace it with the CSS11500 series switches which have a greater capacity.

Thanks - 500.000 concurrent sessions sounds not to be a problem for us. ;-))
The more interesting would be the TCP setup-rate and what will happen if the switch gets an tcp-syn-attack (will it die or stay alive and the server behind dies or the switch drops the attack?)
Regards,
Chris
