snmp trap-type enterprise service-transition command

Hello,

I have the snmp trap-type enterprise service-transition command on my CSS but I only see down and suspended events ?

From the cisco website is suggests I should also see up events ?

"snmp trap-type enterprise service-transition - Generate SNMP enterprise traps when a CSS service transitions state. A trap is generated when a service fails and when a failed service resumes proper operation."

Do I need to do something else ?

cheers,

Mike

Mike,

It is a surprise to see that sort of definition from Cisco.

In my experience with all the three CSS 1150X models and WebNS 8.1 and below version, I only see trap messages at the SNMP Manager when there is a service 'suspension'. I never saw any trap received by the manager when there is a service 'activation', however I could see them on the logs. When I say this I shoudl say I am not using any Cisco MIBs here on the SNMP Managers. Cisco actually reccomends this MIBs.

May be that if you those Cisco MIBs which are actually free downloadable, it might work, I mean a trap received when there is a service 'activation'.

Do tell us if you make any breakthrough.

thanks
