Hi All,
I'm trying to determine where the config file is located on my WAVE-574 device. I recently had the device RMA'd (fault DIMM slot and console port) and i'm hoping to retain my previous config. The issue is that since the console port was inaccessible and there was no remote access, I have no way of getting at the config file. I have the new device in hand, and what I was hoping is that I could swap out the hard drive or the flash card and transfer it to the new unit since they are identical units. My worry is that the IOS versions are different and simply swapping memory won't work.
Are there any ramifications to simply swapping the hard drive and the flash card in hopes of transfering the same IOS and config to the new device?
Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
Best Regards,
Evan

If you have used the WAAS Central Manager to push out the config, you can provide the new hardware an IP address and have it assume the role of the displaced WAE. The CM will push the configs to the WAE.
Recovering WAAS Device Registration Information
The DRE cache would need to rebuild.

Hi Dan,
Unfortuntely the CLI and Central Manager are entirely unreachable as there is no connectivity on the device and the console port is faulty. There is no back-up WAAS device in place. Is there no way to transfer the existing config file from the faulty device to the new one by doing a physical memory swap?
Best Regards,
Evan
