One Way Audio SPA-1001

Hello everybody, I have a SPA-1001 adapter and I cant' get it working correctly. I attacthed it to a 3g router (MBRN3000 by netgear) which is connected to the internet by a 3g usb pen (the internet provider is the italian "Wind"). If I leave the same configuration as the factory default, I can subscribe to my voip provider (messagenet.it), recive calls but I can't hear the other person. I forwarded the port sip and rtp ports in the router configuration to SPA-1001, but I have the same problem. In the tab "line 1" in SPA-1001 configuration I set to yes both "NAT mapping enabled" and "NAT Keep alive": still one way audio. Then in the SIP menu I set to yes these options: Handle VIA received, Handle VIA rport, Insert VIA received, Insert VIA rport. In this case I get no audio at all and in the first page on the SPA-101 admin section, it is shown a "mapped sip port" in the line 1 status.

Can you please help me to get this working?

One more thing, on an android device connected wireless to the same router, I can easily configure a sip client and it works perfectly.

Best regards

Tommaso

Sounds like you are almost there with the configuration that receives the incoming call but has one-way audio.  One-way audio is sometimes caused by a miscommunication in the sip signalling about the rtp port or ip address.  I would try a test setting up a stun server to see if that makes any difference.  A stun server echoes back your external ip address and external port numbers that it receives.  This can assist the SPA1001 in formulating its sip signalling.  A stun server is a standardized function and you can use any stun server.

For the test, on the Sip Tab enable STUN and enter the STUN server.  Try stun.voipbuster.com.  Also set the other NAT Support Parameters to YES ... Handle VIA received, Handle VIA rport, Insert VIA received, Insert VIA rport, Substitute VIA Addr, Send Resp To Src Port.  On the Line Tab keep the NAT Mapping Enable set to YES.

Hi, thank you for your advices. Unfortunately no luck yet. After having configured the stun server the adapter sometimes fail to login and when it does there's no audio at all. I attached 3 screenshots of my configuration. Any other help highly appreciated!

Your router's User Manual shows a "Disable Sip ALG" setting.  Have you tried disabling Sip AlG both with and without the other test settings?  Many report that some router's Sip ALG causes problems.

I doubt that it is causing the problem but I would do a quick test to see if disabling the router's SPI firewall solves anthing.

It worked perfectly! Thank you very much

Unfortunately I have to contradict what I stated before: this morning it didn't work anymore

I had no audio at all, then after having reset the router I had only one way communication. Such a volatile behaviour surely doesn't help.
