3rd party sip registration - 4331 Router - IOS 16.4.1

I'm attempting to register a third party SIP device to the 4331 Router running in CME mode.   This process has worked for years on a 2901 router, and originally worked on the 4331 router running IOS 3.16.04.   Once I upgraded to 16.4.1, the registration request is successfully challenged with a 401 Unauthorized, but returns a 404 Not Found after the registration attempt with the proper credentials.

Is there a new setting in the firmware that is preventing the registration process?     Below, I have included a generic version of the config file in the manner that I'm attempting to use.   I also attached a "debug ccsip all" for an example registration attempt where it shows a "No matching pool for this REGISTER contact - 1111@192.168.11.34".

Also, if I run a "show voice register all", it shows the registrations attempts under the "VOICE REGISTER GLOBAL" statistics, but shows 0 attempts under the "VOICE REGISTER POOL" statistics.

Any help, suggestions or pointers would be appreciated.

Hi Michael,

Please contact cisco TAC for sip registration issue, they should be able to help you.

Thanks,

Raghavendra

Thank you for the response. However, I had already opened a TAC request, and was told that third party SIP registrations were not officially supported on CME, thus TAC could not offer support.

Hi Michael,

I am sorry, this forum for TCL IVR script issues.

Thanks,

Raghavendra

Just in case someone stumbles across this dead thread in the future (like I did).  The way to make this work is to change

voice register pool  1

id mac 0000.0000.0000

number 1 dn 1

dtmf-relay rtp-nte

username 1111 password test

to

voice register pool  1

id device-id-name 1111

number 1 dn 1

dtmf-relay rtp-nte

username 1111 password test

Hi Bryce,

Thank you! After Friday-->Sunday evening boiling my brain I've found your post.

changing " id mac 0001.0001.0001" to "id device-id-name 2000" have saved me from going insane.
THANK YOU!!!

Thanks a lot!!!
