Got burnt by this bug this past weekend when upgrading the IOS to 3.6.4 on my 3850 Stacks. Luckily only one of the 32 switches needed to be replaced.

I did a bug search and there doesn't seem to be an IOS with this fixed yet. We bought 91 3850s and upgraded them from 3.5 to 3.7.2 and had to replace five of the switches. C'mon Cisco! Waiting on this bug fix and waiting on the fix for GBLIC vulnerability. How many months do you need?

Booted to the newest code, and it fixed the issue.

Code version: 3.7.5E(ED)

Another work around that should be posted to the bug soon.

***Required Cisco TAC interaction for initial steps***

1.)    config terminal

2.)    service internal

3.)    end

4.)    request system shell

5.)    yes ... then TAC will need to copy the challenge and response accordingly to proceed

6.)    cd /ucode0

7.)    cp /usbflash0:cat3k_caa-drivers.SSA.03.06.02.PSR3.65.pkg .

a.)  IF it fails from USB than

  b.)  cp /usbflash0:cat3k_caa-drivers.SSA.03.06.02.PSR3.65.pkg flash:

                  c.)  cp /flash:cat3k_caa-drivers.SSA.03.06.02.PSR3.65.pkg .

9.)    ls -ls   to verify file

10.)  config terminal

11.)  boot system flash:cat3k_caa-universalk9.SPA.03.06.06.E.152-2.E6.bin  (might need to clear out any current entries with no boot system flash:)

12.)  sh boot  to verify

13.)  reload
