WLC 5508 with spanning tree

Hello experts,

1 question for WLCs 5508 with spanning tree protocol. It's mentionned on best practices that we have to disable spanning-tree on the WLCs.

Let's assume we have 2 switches, and 1 WLC. The WLC is connected to both switches through 1 cable, 1 cable to Switch1 and 1 cable to Switch2.

How is working spanning tree ? Do we risk a loop ?

Does the WLC send BPDUs ?

Thank you.

I am pretty sure spanning tree is disabled on those by default run:

show spanningtree switch

to see if it is. there is no reason to have a WLC involved in spanning tree. Because, yes if you have a trunk between the two switches it could theoretically create a loop
